The Robins Nest KRM IS 2

Greetings crafters. Today I am excited to be here with Robin's Nest and to share with you a project that I have been spending a bit of time thinking about making.
First up are the photos I used in my project, as unfortunately no matter how hard I try they just do not come through as nice in the layout photo.

Now, you have seen the photo's I chose so lets take a look at the paper. First thing I did when deciding on this project was to hop over to the The Robins Nest and take a look at what was available for my project. This is what I came up with. Now let me say, I am in Florida and it was 4 days from order to delivery... I think that is pretty amazing, especially since I ordered over the Labor Day weekend.
This is close up and links directly to the paper.

The first paper I used as the background for my layout, and the second was used as my photo background. I did quite a few workups and walked away, worked up and walked away before the final layout decision was made.

After printing the photos and using my Gina Marie stitched dies to cut them out with my Big Shot, I then made the background layer the same way. I then pulled some other dies from my stash and found the balloons, strings, KRM letters and fish. Using some Colorbok squares from my stash I set out to cut the items and play with them around the layout.

After having everything die cut, I then used my mini Xyron to add the adhesive to all the little cuts. My photos were set in place and adhered to the page and then I started having fun with my die cuts.
Prepping for adhesion
Once I was happy, I added a couple stickers to the balloons so the title box states... KRM Is 2. My fish were added and some mini clear dew drops were added as fish air bubbles. My project is complete and I sent a photo of it to my daughter. She is thrilled and can't wait to hang it in KRM's room.

The layout ideas that did not make the cut!!!

The background paper is from American Crafts "Hot Cocoa" collection. I stamped the Kettle from the Mother's Day set, the Coffee Cup from the My Cup Runneth Over set and the sentiment came from the Everyday Sentiments set. A little bit of coloring and a few sequins and my project was complete.

Joy Clair Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Greetings friends and fellow crafters. LeeAnn here bringing you todays installment of Joy Clair Stamps and the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.
In an effort to keep myself straight this week, I decided to bring you a planner spread I worked on. Hope you enjoy.

I used 3 Joy Clair sets for this project My Cup Runneth OverInk Splatters and Wonderland Letters

You can see off to the left I am not infallible. I originally stamped the sentiment from the My Cup Runneth over set, with an acrylic block, yes that did not work out so well and did not stamp all the way, since I did not take the page out of my planner first. When I went to restamp (not learning my lesson the first time) it was off, so I used a piece of white card stock, stamped my stampoholic and it was perfect.

I then decided to make a shaker card bookmark using the My Cup Runneth Over set. I stamped the image with Versafine Black, and once dry colored with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. Added the Gold Rush sequin mix from my friend Kat's shop and used my Fuse Tool to seal it up. Added a ribbon and a planner add on and I was finished with that.

I then went to my stamp table and used the Wonderland Letter set and my Stampoholic to line up the letters and times for when my assignments are due this week. I used Brilliance coffee bean ink on this portion.

Finishing this off, I used the Ink Splatter set and "spilled" coffee on my planner. Let me say, this is something that will never happen as my cup and my stamp table do not know each other, they have not and will NEVER meet. Using Frayed Burlap distress ink I made the "coffee" splotches. I then remembered my coffee ring stencil by Tim Holtz, grabbed it, added that touch and I was finished.

Or so I thought. Taco Tuesday just really needed to be represented, I have a little place not far from the house that has $1 taco's on Tuesday and most weeks I do go have a couple. And this little guy wanted to be stamped, so why not.

Yes I typed a lot, hope you have stuck with me this far. If you have, do me a favor and leave a comment and let me know... beef or chicken, what is your favorite taco type?

Make sure you comment over on the Joy Clair blog for this Coffee Lover Blog Hop. Create a project to enter in the hop. You too can be eligible for a $25 Joy Clair gift card or one of the other great prizes from the sponsors.

Moon Flower Designs and Challenge Yourself 86

Greeting crafty friends. I am here today with a project using an image from our friends at Moon Flower Designs. This shop has some great digital images and I hope you find as many fun ones to work with as I have.

With Halloween coming up next month, I decided to use this cute Steampunk girl and turn her into a Halloween card.

 Steampunk Girl

First thing I did was print the image with my laser printer, and then used my scan n cut to make a perfect cut. I went through my stash and picked out the background paper I wanted to use,  and I then went to work using Spectrum Noir markers. My girl really needed to not clash with the paper.  I used foam tape to add some dimension for the image, a few Jolee stickers and my project was complete.

I hope you have enjoyed my project and participate in our challenge. Please head over to Martha's blog to see how to enter :)

Joy Clair September Blog Hop

Greetings Crafty Friends. Time for another great installment of the Joy Clair Monthly Blog Hop.
Today I am going to highlight two sets from this months release.
Fall Time was made using the new Fall Planner set. I used Recollections Ombre Ink to stamp the leaves, and Versamark to stamp Fall Time, I then used Whispers brand opaque Orange embossing powder and my heat gun. The card stock is from DCWV Mixed Media mini stock. I grabbed some burlap from my stash, and a few sequins to finish off the look.

As soon as I saw this God's Time stamp set I knew what I was going to do. Using a embossed page from a Tim Holtz embossing folder as the background I built the card up from there. After stamping the image and using my Scan N Cut to carefully cut it out, I used Versamark to restamp it, and used Copper embossing powder. I then sprayed the time piece with Tattered Angels Sea Glass for shimmer. Using GinaK Dark Chocolate dye ink I stamped the sentiment. Finishing it off  I used pop dots on the time piece to add some dimension.

Joy Clair September Challenge

Hi there crafty friends. I wanted to take time today to let you know that the Joy Clair September Challenge has begun.
Our Challenge Inspiration:
My project:

Using the Hugs and Smiles stamp set I stamped out the flower image with versamark ink. Once dry I used Gansai Tambi watercolors and painted in the images and background.
I added clear droplets as waterdrops, and using a piece of cardstock from a My Mind's Eye glitter paperpack I formed the bouquet holder. The sentiment came from the Everyday Sentiment set released in August.
