XYRON DIY Calendar Project

Greetings Crafty Friends. LeeAnn here bringing you a DIY Crafty Project featuring XYRON projects. This project is part of the XYRON design team call. Good luck to everyone applying.

I have made a video with this process, however, my voice is not working properly so I have decided to write a tutorial to go along with the video.

I had quite a bit of fun with this project and have decided to make one for each month of the year and they can just be changed each month.

So without further delay here is how I made my project.
1. Decide the paper to be used. For this, calendar project I used Recollections 2016 Valentine's Day paper packs. Joy Clair Wonderland letters stamp set, Versafine Black Onyx ink pad, Silver table scatter, a plastic calendar blank, Fiskars trimmer, Acrylic photo frame, Brother Scan n Cut, XYRON X, XYRON Wedge Glue Stick, XYRON Adhesive Eraser, Bone Folder and Dry Erase Marker.

2. The first thing I did was stamp out my letters on white card stock. I then ran them through the scan n cut with an offset of .4 to leave a white trim. I then changed the paper to the Deep Red and ran that through the scan n cut with a .8 offset.

3. After the cutting was complete, I added the letters to the XYRON X and pulled through. I also added a few pieces of the table scatter. I really love the X when it comes to small work like this as I do not enjoy getting glue all over myself and my project, and the X takes that worry away.

4. Once all the letters and table scatter were though I tore it off the X and used my bone folder to smooth it out. As you can see in the video I made it a little too smooth. I then adhered the top layer of the letters to the Deep Red layer. I used the adhesive eraser to take care of any goobers remaining.

4. The Pale Pink page is 8.5 x 11, the Black sentiment layer is cut to 7.75 x 8.5. I used the Wedge to adhere the sentiment sheet to the Pale Pink, and then the calendar blank to the darker pink. and then centered that on the sentiment page.

5. With the layering all complete I used my ruler to help center the letters the best possible starting in the center and working out on the page.

6. The table scatter was affixed in the four corners, with the top corners saying Forever Love and the bottom saying Love Always. I then added 3 hearts to one side of the page and 2 hearts to the other.

7. Realizing that the page was not the right size for the 8 x 10 frame that I had, I cut .25 inch off each top and bottom as well as the sides, and the page fits perfectly.

8. To finish off this project I used a dry-erase marker from EXPO and wrote the dates in the proper spaces for February.

I hope you have enjoyed my project, here is the video for your enjoyment to show exactly how the process was complete, fumble fingers and all. It is set to music as I am having some voice issues today.

Have a SCRAPINDIPITY Birthday

Greetings crafty friends. LeeAnn here and I am having fun with this little guy. I chose for my project this month the Happy Birthday Bear. Two important people in my life have birthdays this week, my mother in law on the 25th and my precious aunt on the 30th. So I felt this little guy was the perfect to use to celebrate.

Happy Birthday Bear

For my project, the first thing I did was print the bear and cut her out using my Scan N Cut. I then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in Brown, Oatmeal, and Mustard to color the bear. I used Grey on the bottom of the paws and Pink for the tongue. The candle was colored with Cobalt Blue and the flame has a touch of Florescent Yellow and Orange. For the Happy Birthday die cut, I cut it out, then ran the pieces through my Xyron X to make it adhere to the base. THEN, I arrived at the part where I was going to have fun.
I laid the images on the base where I wanted the bear and flame to be and made pencil marks so I knew my parameters I had to work within. I used my Chibitronic's intro kit and ran two lines of copper conductive tape from where I wanted the battery to where I wanted the light to complete a circuit. The battery is a CR2032 and the light is a little LED sticker and the outcome is amazing. Once I was sure the pieces were where the needed to be, I used 3L foam dots to give some dimension, and allow clearance so the battery wasn't live all the time. This is the outcome.

When you tickle little bear's belly, the candle lights up.

I hope you have enjoyed my project, please check back the 27th of every month for my next Scrapndipity update.

Scrap N' Dipity Monochromatic January Challenge

Greetings Friends. January is here and it is Challenge time at Scrap N' Dipity. The theme for this month is Monochromatic, so I put my brain to work. Using the Woodland Creatures Combo set I knew what I was going to do.

Using my Spectrum Noir markers in various shades of brown I went to town. I used my Lawn Fawn landscape die for the snowdrift. DCAM Shaker Tag die for the sentiment cut and the sentiment is from Hero Arts Stamped with Gina K Honey Mustard Ink. The Snowflakes are from Joy Clair and stamped with Hero Arts White Unicorn Ink.

I hope you have enjoyed my project, look forward to seeing what everyone makes to enter the Challenge.

Greetings crafty friends. Happy New Year!!! Welcome to the first Blog Hop of 2017. We have four great sets in this months release and we have all had a great time getting inky with them.
New Release

I chose to work with Candy Love for my stop along the hop. I really had a lot of ideas with this set, and am going to share one with you now, and the other a little later in the month.

I made this side step card with a die in my arsenal.  I used the SVG file and cut the single hearts with my Scan N Cut. I then stamped them and worked on coloring with complementary Spectrum Noir Markers. The solid and pattern paper is from Recollections, the side step card base is from a Sizzix Die. And can you believe Valentines candy is in the stores already?
