Same Set Syndrome Blog Hop with Not 2 Shabby Shop

Greetings friends and fellow crafters, today along with some of my crafty friends in the Same Set Syndrome event, are playing with stamp sets from Not 2 Shabby Shop. So hop along and see the fun we are having.

For my project I used the Summer Times Buddy Stamp Set, along with a stencil from my stash.

These are the steps I used to make this card...

  1. I cut my black and scalloped edge layers with dies from KatScrappiness
  2. For the Scalloped layer, I used post it tape to mask off the edges so my ink blending would stay within the stitched border.
  3. Using Blueprint Sketch and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks I inked up this panel
  4. Position a Tim Holtz Splash Stencil over the panel and Blend in Mermaid Lagoon.
  5. Spritz this panel with Sheer Shimmer Spritz and set aside to dry.
  6. Moving over to the stamp set, I stamped out the Kitty, Puppy, Castle, Sun and Starfish using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and  cut the images with my Scan N Cut.
  7. The images were colored using Ohuhu Alcohol Markers.
  8. All images except the Castle were adhered using Clear Foam Squares, they are really thin and give just enough of a lift to slightly add dimension. This is how the small shadow was achieved to the lower side of the images.
  9. The Castle was adhered using a tape runner with only the flag adhered with the clear foam square.
I did purposely leave the flag white... I am surrendering... I want to go to the water park and float all day in the Lazy River, however with the C19, that isn't happening...

SO, hop on along and visit Maritza over on Instagram... HERE

  1. LeeAnn, that water background is amazing and looks so inviting. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Adorable card, LeeAnn!! I love that stencil!

  3. Hey hop neighbor!!! This looks so cool! Love the watery background!!! I'm with you... I surrender! Thankfully I have a pool to float in, though my dogs don't let me get away with that! Instead, my escape is hiking in the woods away from people but with these temps we've been getting that is on hold too. Guess we just need to hold tight a little longer, my friend, and keep pumping out cards!!! LOL

  4. I love the use of the stencil for the water.

  5. Super cut, and I love the use of stencil for the water.

  6. The water looks so real and reflective! Is that stencil still available? Super cute card!!

    1. Hi Tracie, yes the stencil is available it is Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Splash THS080
